Philosophy of The Thinking Space PracticeWelcome to The Thinking Space, a Dynamic Psychotherapy Practice based on over 25 years clinical experience using analytic thinking to work with a range of clients in both the public and private sector.
Clients come for help when they are emotionally fragile and need to feel they are in safe and competent hands. I try to provide this by being responsive, sensitive and ethical in my approach through what I call ‘working below the surface’. This gives recognition to the fact that there is more going on in our minds than we are always aware of and that life and relationships can be complicated by our past experiences. I try to enable clients to have the space to think, explore and search for what is most personally meaningful, reliable and enduring in their lives. The Thinking Space Practice offers a range of Psychotherapeutic options depending on your circumstances.
I have also been involved in community care projects such as consulting to staff teams in organisations that look after the well-being of mentally ill patients as well as providing teaching seminars and supervision as part of the continuing development of professionals working in the mental health field. As part of my commitment to assist in the well being of professionals working on the front line, I am also interested in social justice projects which examine the psychological consequences of prejudice, racism, terrorism and other societal atrocities that create trauma for individuals and societies.
I hope you find the website useful but please contact me if you want to discuss any aspects of the service in more detail.
